My father use to be in the millitary and went on missions in Siberia, Kenya etc etc
And personally, I admire his courage. Then again, threw my adult perception, I would find it hard to encourage him to leave '' to risk his live for our freedom''.
I understand the meaning behing the proudness your speaking of- but honestly, would it be gratifying to lose your child for freedom that will never be achieved? There is no such thing as political freedom....

I would admire my child, but I wouldnt be proud....

maybe im just a pessimist...

ouch, I mean you should be proud of them but I think I would try to talk him out of it, cause with presidents like bush fighting when they don't have to anymore, I would not risk my sons life over that. I mean they already did what they had to took that bastard out and even killed him but I think they should just train the iraki people and give them the weapons to fight for their rights and against terrorist and bring our troops back.

both. Your proud of their willingness to lay it all down to protect America. Then you talk them out of this it for this time, explaining that the current war is BS, and not going to be won.

I'm vary proud of my son ,and I stand along side of him in any thing he wants to do.
But with this one I'll stand in his way, and try to talk him out of it.
hes my only child, and if he comes back in a box just lock me up and trow away the key.

Depends. If your kid wants to join the army to fight an unjust and ultimately pointless war against people who just want to run their own country - then I'd say dont do it.

Or are you talking about something else?

I would "beat" them back to their senses. The armed forces (EVERY COUNTRY) uses young people to do things for politicians and large corporations. I would NEVER let my children ever join such a MANIPULATIVE organization. If my country was being attacked then I WOULD take up arms but NOT FOR POLITICIANS.

I would tell them to be sure that's what they want to do. If it is, I would be very proud of them.

If I talk them out of it, they will be angry at me and most probably do it behind my back.

I'd be soo proud and so scared. But It would be their decision to make, not mine.

First of all just how free are we? I would never let my kid fight a war for such a low life president. This world is in a downward sprial towards dooms day and its all Bush's fault!
