What do you think about Lost, has the great hype lost its appeal or do you think its still going from strength to strength?

I have a love/hate relationship with Lost. I loved loved the first season but the second season nearly did it in for me. It had it's moments but overall it dampened the mood for the third season. Now the third season...is way better than the second season IMO, but I found that I didn't care as much. If I missed the episode I wasn't upset at all.

I have to see how it all ends of course but sometimes watching it feels like a chore. The season finale this year was great and shows how Lost has bounced back from last season but I am at the point where I just want to get to the end :(

Here's hoping the next season fully restores my faith in this show.

It's getting even better. With the end date in view, each remaining episode will be a "must see", as there won't be any filler episodes made just to keep the network happy. Even the filler episodes of LOST have been have been in some way enlightening.

Waiting during the breaks is painful, but not as bad as waiting for the next installment of Stephen King's Dark Tower series. This next nine months is going to come close, though. If you haven't read The Dark Tower books, now would be a great time to start--well once we figure out what the whispers said in "Through the Looking Glass", anyway. There are many 'parallels'. (HA-HA! If you've already read them).

In 20 years there will be a special edition "LOST The Complete Series, Director's Cut"
boxed set, and it will be a best-seller.

I'll disagree with the 2 previous answers -
I DO think it's going "from strength to strength".
The last few episodes have been brilliant.
And I think now that the producers know the show ends in 2010, it will be a tremendous help.
They knew where they started, and they knew where they were ending, but they didn't know how to stretch or compact everything in-between.
Now that they know, it's going to be even more amazing!
The story line gets more and more intriguing, even though we're getting answers just a bit at a time. Just enough to make us come back for more.
And the acting is INCREDIBLE!!!

i cant believe how many people say its lost its touch. i LOVE LOST. i am more addicted to it than i ever was before. I wish they didnt make the breaks so long but i understand that its necessary. production takes time. The show is fantastic. Now that the half way season is over its opened up more questions and at the same time has answered many more. now with the season finale ending in jack and kate off the island has opened up so much more for the show to explore. will be wet flash backs and flash forwards or just one of the two. who is kate living with. why does jack want to go back. who else was rescued. who is john lantham (the guy in the casket). over all i think its great and i cant wait till it come back in february.

The show itself is confusing if you can't keep up, or miss an episode. I still love it, and loved it all along! I don't think that it has skipped a beat. However I do know people that have lost interest, and found it boring now because of new characters and things not making sense. I guess it depends on how you look at it. I enjoy trying to figure it out, and try and decide what is happening, and who some of the people are.

The show is mysterious, and I can't wait to find out what happens.

There's something that I noticed about Lost. It likes to start out slow, like this past season for example, everyone felt that they were moving too slow, weren't advancing any, then after they took the hiatus they absolutely blew everyone out of the water with the last few episodes.

I love Lost, I'm more addicted now than I ever was.

I think Lost is brilliant. Every episode may not be perfect, but it's the kind of show that keeps you questioning what you think. It is very unpredictable and I love that it's that kind of show. The season finale was fantastic and I look forward to the new season in February.

It's only getting better and better. While I do miss Eko (came during 2nd season) the most, I enjoy the new character specials. It is a good change up from the usual: Kate, Jack, and John.

I just hope after 2010, they have cool spin-offs. (Behind Hanso and Black Rock).

I love Lost!!!!!!!!!!
the problem is that its so easy to get lost in the show! lol
But i think its great, it gets your mind thinking.
People often compare it to different stories such as the Book of Genesis, Paradise Lost, Lost Horizon.
I feel that this third season has answered a lot of my questions, theyre not in purgatory!!!!!
Im looking forward to the 4th season!!!!

I loved Lost for the first three episodes, I remember texting my now ex bf while watching and at the time I thought it was a film, and thought it was really good, then watched the second episode and thought "oh the network's played it over two weeks". Then watched the third and realised it was a series.
It would have worked as a film, but now it's just too dragged out, it's LOST me as a viewer.
