Recently he's been saying we're making progress with the troop surge but I just heard it on the radio that we lost over 100 U.S. troops already this month??!! Isn't that more than the average lost of troops before the troop surge? So how is that we're winning the war according to Bush and Cheney? Is losing more troops a sign we're winning?? I'm confused :(

This is from the same man that said "Mission Accomplished" how long ago? Obviously Bush does not have a very good understanding of how war works. Then again, my guess is that he just plain didn't know what he was doing in that regard, took advice from decision makers in the White House (staff, etc) and then ends up being the one that everyone blames for it all. It certainly wasn't him alone that made any decisions.. but he also would have a lot of say if he disagreed etc..

Anyway.. I think that he will always say "we're winning" because.. for one thing.. it would be really stupid to say "we're losing" because the enemy would hear about it.. plus the American people would want him gone then.. But most important, winning or losing, you do have to put across the view that you feel you're winning or the enemy will jump on that.

-- As for Cheney.. The guy couldn't even be honest about the whole mess when he shot someone. I pretty much don't trust that guy worth anything.

Bush has been saying that we've been making "progress" in Iraq for 3 years now. So in my not so humble opinion, I think he's lying.

As Robert Byrd (D-WV) put it "He [President Bush] has lost all credibilty on Iraq"

At the moment, it appears to be a draw. But the consequences of losing would be so severe that it is necessary to carry on. Can you imagine Taliban with nuclear weapons?

We already won three years ago. Since then they've been trying to figure out how to leave. And in three years they still haven't figured out that one.
