Yes... and we do it to our cats to as a party-piece. Get eye contact with them and do a long and exagerated yawn and they yawn too... it is hilarious.. Any people with pets out there.. give it a go!. Very entertaining.

yes its body's reflex. It makes your body thinks the other person is using up all the oxygen and you might therefore not get enough so your body reacts by making you yawn to make sure you get your share of oxygen...
