His stock is somewhat high right now and he'll be a free-agent after next season....

The Rangers will never be able to resign Tex and should get something for him. Since we have a trading partner in the White Sox lets see if we can get John Danks for him and see if CWS will throw in another couple of minor league pitchers. This club is a disaster and I am giving up on them for this year, which I have never done before. I have always believed they coud come back, but this year is shot. I know a lot of the fans do not think so, but I believe the players are giving up. I know that Washington, in his first year, is not the motivator he was as a coach. If he won't go back to a coach and Let Art Howe become the manager, then fire him and promote Howe. The thing to do is get rid of all the players that can not hit and play the field like a pro. There are just too many errors on the field. When you make 40-50 errors in a third of a season something is NOT clicking in the players' minds. I would also think seriously of replacing Daniels, since he evidently does not know how to work out trades beneficial to the Rangers. I also would have Jarimillo working with some of the minor leaguers and see if I could develop some hitters from the minors. The pitching stinks, so get a new pitching coach and a new bull pen coach, if this group of "chunkers" do not start to pitch, instead of just throwing.

Re-sign the guy. He can be a franchise player and people forget he's only 27 this year. He has power, drives in runs, hits from both sides of the plate, and plays gold glove defense at first base which is hard for a big man like him. His supposed "off" years like last season put these numbers up- .282 avg, 33 homers, 110 rbi's, and 99 runs. If thats a bad year I'd take one of those anyday. I say re-sign him longterm and hope for a new stadium or some kind of a pitching upgrade to make that team a winner again.

Keep him. We're doing so poorly we need to keep all of our good ones. We always get the bad ones and get rid of the good ones. For once, the Rangers need to keep a good player and add more good ones.

Why shouldn't they keep him? The only good trade would be for a good pitcher. Good pitching is more valuable than good hitting, so that is the only trade I would make.

If they want to win, they better pay him. Otherwise, look for the Rangers to keep sucking it up!
