every day for 12 hrs they need uva/uvb

yes he will snap out of it, but you have to keep the light there, no messin around, their skin is the opposite of ours, what gives us cancer gives them life. get a timer so it comes on when the sun comes up and goes off when it goes down. it is very important, they can not do what they need to do with calcium in their bodies without it, and the uva is what gives them energy, along with heat.

hopefully he will snap out of it, it is spring, he should be runnin all around like a banshee and head bobin, not sleepin

Did your dragon have a proper basking temperature during those few days? The UV light triggers the synthesis of vitamin D3 which is stored in the liver. Vit. D3 assists in the absorbtion of calcium from the food. It would take much longer then a few days without UV for an obvious deficiency to develop. Drowsy and sick looking beardeds are frequently suffering from parasites. Pinworms and coccidia are very, very common with this species. If you can get a stool sample I would strongly urge you to get it examined by a vet.

UVB lighting, as well as the heat is essential for Bearded Dragons. I use UVB/heat lamp combos for both the adults and the babies. Definitely keep the lamp on your beardie and check to make sure he has a good hot basking area. It should improve within a day or so, if not get it to a reptile vet.

You need to keep the Uv on. If you have any concerns, please check out the Repticzone forums for Beardies. They can help. Also for the person who doesn't have one for their ig, you are killing it. They need UVA AND UVB. please refer to the Green Iguana Society care sheets. My 9 year old daughter has had her ig for 2 years and she can tell you what you need to know. Please research your reptiles!

My iguana hasn't been under a light in three months. He is just fine.
