1.) I am a girl and my mom thinks a boy might " accidently" fall on my chest during practice when we don't have chest pads on

2.) My dad said it's not a good Idea.

3.) I really want to do it. I don't think that boys should get to do all the fun sports while girls are stuck with cheerleading and flutes because it's " Tradition"

4.) There are no try outs required

5.) Would I never have a bf cuz people would think I'm too much of a tomboy?? I am not really a tomboy at all.

ok let me give you some advice. I'm gonna be friendly about this. I dont think girls should play football. It is a boys sport. And if a boy tackles you on the chest, you most likely will get hurt even with pads on. And if you play football, boys are going to react by hating you because football is pretty much a boys only sport. And if a girl plays football, they are a tomboy. So take my advice and save your dignity.

I fail to see a problem with a girl playing 7th Grade football,I've known girls who have played varsity football, and they actually started as well. I think that as far as football goes, if you want to have fun and play, and are willing to work hard, then nobody should have problems with it.

As for your mother's problem, you don't really practice much without chest pads, nor would you be in the same locker room as the other boys I'd imagine.

Fight the power, I know plenty of other guys who love girls who like sports, so don't let that deter you either.

Good luck!

I don't want to discourage you, but I think your "want" is kind of impulsive and not what you really want for the long haul. There are many negatives trying to fit this into the social and emotional life of a 7th grade girl.

If you want to be more physical, try the basketball or track teams. That way you won't get the negative feedback from less open-minded people. Softball is also an option.

If it's really football you crave, there should be a powder puff league or annual game you could play against other girls.

the object of the game is when you are on OFFENCE is to score a touchdown or a field goal

there is 2 ways to move the ball by throwing the ball or running the ball.

A QB throws the ball and a RB throws the ball

a touchdown: is when you get the ball to the opposite end of the field and you get 7 points

a field goal: when you kick the football throught the field goal posts and you get 3 points

DEFENCE is to stop the offence from scoring you start by kicking the football to the offence on a ( kick return ) and they run it back and you tackle them as soon as you can and then it is nowmal football.

ok the main positions are

OFFENCE:

quarterback/ ( QB ): throws the ball to the recievers and is the play caller

runningback/ ( HB ): runs the ball on offence

widereciever/ ( WR ): catches the ball from QB and runs for a touchdown

offencive line men/ ( OL ): protect QB and make a line to keep the defence from sacking the QB

DEFENCE

defencive linemen./ ( DL ): trys to sack the QB and get the ball from him

safteys/ ( S ): defends the wide recieves to try and make sure they don't catch the football

linebackers ( LB ): also try to sack QB and defend the widerecievers and stop RB

cornerback/ ( CB ): also defend widerecievers

Look football is brutal sport and you can get hurt bad. Concussions, ACL PCL and other ligaments can easily be torn as well as being a girl you will probably get harrassed. I think however if you really want to do something then you should do it no matter what the others might think but you better be prepared to pay the price it won't be a picknick.
