If you're doing the Express crossword the answer is Picosecond

Beanie is right - it's picosecond. A millionth of a second would be 1 x 10 ^-6 seconds, and a million millionth would be 1 x 10^-12 seconds. the prefex "pico" is used for 10^-12.

Its a Picosecond (a second to the power of -12). A nanosecond is a thousand millionth (to the power of -9).

A million millionth of a second is one second. I assume you must mean a millionth of a millionth of a second. In any case we do speak differently in the U.S. than in the U.K. In the U.S. we would call 1/1,000,000,000,000, one trillionth. However in science and technology, we use nanoseconds.
