I can only hope you turned off your computer to relocate it prior to disconnecting anything. PS/2 keyboards and mice aren't hot swappable and could damage your computer if you connect/disconnect them while the computer is on.

Make sure it's plugged in all the way and the pins are lined up. Perhaps it isn't plugged in all the way or you may have bent a pin. Try turning the computer off, unplugging the keyboard, inspect the pins for damage and firmly plug the keyboard back in. This should fix your problem

Well, did you make sure the keyboard was plugged into the CPU (the main part of the computer)? If so, I don't know what else to suggest.

well well I hope you didn't plug it in while it was switched on,, If you did, you could have blown you PS2 port,,

if it was switched off when you plugged it in make sure it is plugged in the right way, and also look to see if you have bent any pins in the plug

if you did plug it in while it was switched on then you will need to get a USB keyboard. if it will not work on the PS2 port

Switch off your computer, make sure your keyboard is plugged in correctly then restart your computer, hopefully all will be well.
