A rough-and-ready rogue (Richard Burton) or a carefully groomed and debonair gentleman (Noel Coward)?

I'm not talking about sexual appeal here and this question applies to ladies and gents...and the two examples I give here are exactly that- examples!

What's your opinion?

Has to be the Welsh guy, Noel Coward comes across as being a bit to feminine for my liking!

Some wedding tackle kind of helps.

What makes a man? Depends totally on who you ask, the question is more, what makes a man attractive to you?

In that case, eccentricity, character, charm, sense of humour, kind heart, gentleness, and a flexible, pragmatic view on life.

In terms of looks, according to a mate of mine, grungy student types who are boyish looking. I'll go with that, as it does seem to cover about 90% of men I've fancied!

If I were to sum it up in one word, it would be - "Integrity"

A man sticks to his words and accepts responsibility for his actions. He chooses those words carefully and tries to refrain from swearing in all but the most trying times. He stands for his beliefs in the face of adversity and doesn't discard them for weaker stances just for the approval of his peers.

I get called an "asshole" almost daily by my partner, but I never deny that I said what I did.

Strong arms I can run to when the world throws it's worst.
A problem solver who can put things right
A man with a flair when my legs are in the air
And will whisper sweet nothings through the night...

That's my ideal man!

Lookswise - Johnny Depp, Johnny Knoxville or Hugh Jackman. All three if possible.

Definitely no rough and ready rogues for me. Maybe an Officer and "Gentleman".

I'm more comfortable with a rough and ready type guy .However, I like him to have manners, clean up well and be able to carry on a conversation.

No rogues... or debonair gentlemen... just ice-cold looks of Jeremy Irons that you know would take a loooong time to melt...

A manly man. Someone that can handle fixing things, take out the trash. a man that can cry at a sad movie but not wimpy and cry all the time. Man that is not afraid to tell his feelings. NO mom's boys.
