Other than some accidental scratches and dents, my present car has not had anything done to it (yet). The previous one was stolen and found completely stripped in Mexico. Every year at least one car disappears from the school parking lot, and every few months a teacher's car is vandalized. The newest thing at my school is "car hopping," whereby the kids hop on the hood of a parked car and do somersaults or other acrobatic moves on the roof, then hop onto the next car and the next.

My mom was a substitute teacher in South Central LA before she got tenure in East LA. She's a white woman, but the students never once messed with her car. As a matter of fact she told me once that some of the gang members from Piru and the Crips made it a habit to protect her car from students.
You must live in a small town for the students to know where you live, huh?

I am a student from Jamaica and all the teachers at my school have had there cars: scratched, spray-painted, egged also things have been thrown at the car windows and this happens all year 'round but mostly during the graduation period.

The question is impossible to answer, as no one keeps track of incidence of vandalism on teachers' cars in this country or abroad. I imagine that it is one of those unpleasant things that happen when living too close to students. You might have to garage your car. This might be expensive, but having your car vandalized is also expensive. You might have to tally which would cost you more, vandalism or garaging.

I'm a high school student/school district tech and I've never had my car vandalized. My school is also what most people would classify as "ghetto".

I once put glue all over my teachers car and walked on it barefoot. It was soooo sticky.
