My brother wants to play football
Hes about 5'7'' and weigh about 120 lbs.
He can throw pretty nicely, catch well, run at decent speed.
He cannot tackle though.
On defense, he can cover wide receivers alright.
What position should he play?

Let the coaches get him into drills and see if he develops into something. You can't teach guts. Maybe he can learn to use his body to hit.
Right now we're just guessing, but I would say he's a WR at this point.
And for you morons who don't realize this kid is 120 pounds in 8th grade, he's not a midget. Your cracks on this kid being a bench warmer show the shallowness of your brain capacity. Coach this kid right as a corner for one season and he could probably keep you armchair "stars" from ever making one play on the field. I say, fire this young man up so he becomes the best player he can be.

It really depends on his body size and his overall athletic ability, but since he's just going into high school, why not have him try out all the positions he wants to?
On the freshman team in high school, no one is going to be a pure position player. They always experiment kids at different positions during practice and games to see what they can do. Realistically he should try out for either Quarterback, Wide Receiver, Running back, or Cornerback during his freshman year. If he does not grow to be taller than 6 feet, then QB would not be an option seeing as how he would be able to see over the offensive lineman. Tell him to work with his coaches on getting faster and better conditioned for football, show his stuff at all positions for the coaches, and thell guide him to what he can do best.

I will limit my answer to the interior offense line. Look at the college game for the example of the programs that do not draw the best talent year and year out. A good betting strategy would be to bet on the the major college teams with five fifth year seniors in O-line. Don't just look at the W-L record. Look at the quality of losses if the team is an middle level team in a strong conference like Big Ten or SEC. I do not read those football magazines to form an opinion. Ask someone who has played major college football. Not a sport writer.

Whatever the coaches think that he is best for. Football is a sport in which the system being executed is more improtant than the tallent of the individual. It is the coaches job to use his personel where he sees fit. Your brother can expect to play different positions for the rest of his time in the game. Don't be surprised if the coaches can teach him to tackle too, that is a learned ability as well.

Assuming he in junior high or just starting high school, based on the information you have provided I would suggest playing either running back, wide out, or corner. The reason that I say corner is one of the greatest of all time, Deion Sanders, couldn't takle anyone either. Have him find something he likes and work hard. With the proper effort he will get better at the things he isn't so good at.

At what level does he want to play? High School? Pop Warner? if its high school then a kicker/ or punter if he has a good foot. But also it depends on how strong he is. If he is weak and 120 he doesnt have a chance to play if he does make the team

How old is he? Realistically he sounds like a Wide Receiver, but on defense he could be a free safety. He has to read the field, and anticipate where the play will be. again it would also depend on his age

Have him ask his coach.
Seriously, it is that simple.
Never mind the guys answering seriously not knowing the competition.
Ask yourself do you trust a bunch of strangers on something called Yahoo over a guy that who would like to see your brother succeed?
