It's been well over a decade since I read the book in tenth grade and at that time my teacher pointed out that Animal Farm could be seen as both a comparison to the rise and fall of Communism in Russia and the rise and prediction of the fall of Communism in Russia (Animal Farm was published long before the fall of the Soviet Union after all). The farmer represented the czar, Old Major was kinda a cross of Lenin and Karl Marx, Napoleon was Stalin, Snowball was Trotsky. The uprising that overthrew the farmer would be the October Revolution and as the book progressed you see how the pigs become more like the farmer and mankind, more like capitalism coming to Russia.

So a thesis statement could be how Animal Farm compares to real world events.
