At what age do you think people should be to have a cell phone?

I was 45 before I got my first cell phone (seriously) and I'm still not sure how I feel about it. When you get older, you appreciate the fact that sometimes its nice when people can't get a hold of you all the time. Although I was using computers and the Internet before most of the people who are likely to answer this question were born, I'm not sure that life has gotten any better through all this technology. A good book to read about this idea is "Better Off: Flipping the Switch on Technology," by Eric Brende. It makes the point that a lot of the technology that we think helps make getting together with other people easier (phones, cars, the Internet) actually tends to be counterproductive to normal human interaction.

15/16 -- When they have a license. Kids shouldn't be going so far away that they need a cell phone. Plus, cell phones cause brain tumors, and I really doubt children want that.

I got my first one in 2nd grade, safety reasons. though the average age now is about 3rd grade or 4th grade because thats when u start to feel the need to talk mor ewith ur friends and stuff.
