Yes and then No
She dies but then she is brought back to life just as her mother dies so there is a moment there when they are both dead and Ellis tells her to go back that it is not her time, so Meredith mraculously comes back to life long after she should have been pronounced dead.

No- she almost does but her mother dies in the same episode. I am beginning to wish she did drown because she is gettting on my nerves

No they are able to bring Meredith back, she comes close to though but luckily Christina makes them keep trying and they are able to bring her back to life.
