What are the similarities and differences in Romeo and Juliet and West Side Story in how each play sets up the tragic ending?

I know the differences, I just need to know one similarity. Please help.

Thanks.

Sorry, I forgot to include in my additional details that I already have one similarity, and it's that they're both from rival families/gangs. Hehe, sorry again.

well for starters they have totaly different settings.

Theres an racial theme in west side story that isnt in romeo and juliet. But the feuding familys and the love etc is still there.

We never actually see the parents in west side story, where as we meet capulet, lady capulet montague and lady montague in Romeo and Juliet.

The social status is different in west side story. For example in romeo and Juliet, juliet is higher than the nurse, socially, however, in west side story, anita, who is the nurses counter part is higher up than Maria, who is juliets counter part. also, anita is married to Bernardo, who is Tybalts counter part, which is not so in Romeo and juliet.

Um, I haven't seen West Side Story, but weren't the guy and girl who are the protagonists supposed to be from the two rival gangs? That would be a similarity to Romeo and Juliet where their from two rival families.

In both stories the star crossed lovers were from opposite sides of an ethnic conflict.
