no good reason. if the other nations hadthought of forming a UN at a time long before it was actually formed in history here there might have been help. alsothe war to establish the rest of America would have been very different if they had as they could then monitor it even intervene possibly stop what was going on for time. as to civil war in Iraq the UN could help.even if it does not suceed in a peacekeeping mission or in resolving the war the U.S. army is responsible for the war and is still continuing it. so what could be done is to send peacekeepers to patrol the streets that is if people trust the UN to police the streets of Iraq or were they there already. even as the war continues the UN could patrol in Iraq or even negoitiate an end to it. the U.S. could even vote against themselves at the UN. they could use the position they have in UN to help themselves withdraw. the other countries if they have not voted for it could as well. answer zilch but nothing we say matters because only what politicians say matters nothing citizens say will ever matter even if they talk to their politicians as if it is not said by one it does not matter and the media and the politicians can lie to you and everyone and record their lies as history and everyone will beleive them no one will be able to question the lies censorship will prevail anyone who does could be labeled a terrorist even if they have no capacity for it and people will eat it up. lies, lies, throut the history of humanity and more lies. even to an extent UN is biased most people are could even say i am but not in that way i do not hold with being told lies

For one thing, the US is partly responsible for the situation; if the US hadn't removed Saddam's government, his party would still be ruling Iraq. The "insurgency" is mostly comprised of Saddam's old partisans trying to regain power. As long as they threaten the new democracy, we have a responsibility to help.
For another thing, the US has its own national interest in preserving Iraqi democracy. It will help to stem the tide of Islamist extremism.
So, in this case moral obligation and self-interest coincide; the US needs to help Iraq.
