hi i have a netgear router an want to go wireless but do i have to have a netgear wireless adapter or will any wireless adapter do

i would just get rid of netgear all together. their customer support blows, but to answer your question, you should be able to use any wireless adapter, like the ones that already come installed in the laptops, but the process of setting all of that up is insanly difficult in comparison to linksys.

no. any wireless adapter will be fine for you, i use a netgear router and have a belkin adapter on 2 laptops

Anything thats the same spec as yuor wireless router should do it, 802.11b/802.11g for example
