if someone is telling you about something happened to him/her..
do you like to hear all the details or just the main events...
and if you are the one whos telling the story do you give all the details or just the summary...

Depends on the person telling the story, some people are not good story tellers, and tend to bore people if they are too monotone. Make sure the small details are relevant to the main event. As far as me? When I am telling a story, I have to take in to consideration my listeners...if they have a short attention span, than I get to the point quickly before I lose them. I like to add a bit of humor to my stories, however some people have no sense of humor, hence I try to refrain from using my sharp tongue and wasting the jokes on those who will not appreciate it.

It depends on how they tell the story. Main events if it's a long, drawn out story. I give minor details and the summary.

I want the person to just tell the main facts of the story and leave out all the unimportant things. Same thing when I am telling someone something.,

If I'm telling a story, I like to be understood, so I will speak with more detail varying on the subject. If I'm being told a story, I like to understand exactly what it is there saying so, detail is a plus when I'm being spoke to.

life is short, i need short stories or i start getting really ancy, and i cant even pay attention anyways. If you want to tell me a long story, you better have pictures or illustrations for me to look at.

I think it depends how interesting the subject is also how well it is being told ..but normally i just prefer the facts
