When I was pregnat with my first baby I compiled a list of girls and boys names... unique names from all over the world.

I had a girl...
and then after another 9 months had another girl.

My babies have unique names.

Try and think of something that is unique to your relationship/ your life and your experiences leading up to you conceiving... ...
that way your names will be unique too.

The best thing to do is find letters you like... that go well with your last name...

then pick a name...
which has a meaning that is special to you...

...you can search for names from origin or letters or meanings etc.

Girls...

Vachel... French... means baby cow

Well, if you're willing to spend a few bucks, you can try going to the either the bookstores near you (or try hitting bookstores like Barnes and Nobles online if you don't mind waiting for it to be delivered and paying a little more for shipping and handling) or your local grocery stores. I usually see one or two rather cheap baby naming books at the checkout in the grocery line, but you tend to find books at the bookstore that have even more names in them.

If you're not intrested in paying, try checking your local library or look online. I tend to do some writing and I like to check out some web sites to get ideas for character names. I to hit About.Com as under their Parenting and Family section I can go through some subsections and bring up lists of all kinds of baby naming sites. Also I use Whisper Kitty's Given Names List due to it's large size and the fact that it has so many meanings to the names.

Finaly I also use Kate Monk's Onomastikon. It's hosted by a site called GamingGeeks.org, so obviously it would seem to be oriented towards gamers. But the Onomastikon is actually more a collection of historical names that could well be used by anyone.
