The fact that your pitcher is supposed to throw at the other team when a big player is hit?

That you're not supposed to bunt with a big lead?

That you must never show up the other side even when you crush a homer?

That a manager will not take a guy out in the middle of an inning no matter how many consecutive errors he makes?

True baseball fans know there are hundreds of these. What's your favorite, and why?

Dont steal late in a lob sided game. Did you see steve kline retaliate yesterday against torrealba for doing that a couple weeks ago. Yep he plunked him!!

My favorite unwritten baseball rule isn't something done by players, but the groundscrew. If the home team runs well and bunts for a lot of hits, they will slope the baselines so the ball stays fair. If the road team has these skills, they may slope the baseline so the ball rolls foul. They can also mow the grass to different lengths based upon team speed.

My favorite is that a pitcher is supposed to hit a player on the other team. You gotta protect your team mates. If you dont retaliate then other teams will keep hitting your superstars knowing that their stars wont get hit back.

Another I like that you did not list is dont steal when your up big. Its just not necessary and it is showing up your opponent, something that is never supposed to be done

Avoid the pitcher when he's throwing a perfect game/no hitter,
and don't mention it will it's in the works.

It's entertaining when the pitcher actually wants to talk to the other players, and It's funny to see the commentators try to avoid it, even though they always mention it for the ignorant fans who are watching.

Don't bunt for a base hit when it's late innings against a pitcher with a no-hitter.

The one I like the least is "don't pile on when winning a blowout."

The one team should stop trying to score when the other team stops trying to catch up.

Don't initiate a fight with an opposing player while still wearing your catcher's mask for protection (Jason Varitek).
