I'm brazilian, and, in Brazil, a great part of men and women don't likes red lingerie, because, here i'ts looks like a cheap prostitute's underwear. For anothers, red is very sexy. This is a question of local culture.
Brazilian lingerie is exported to Middle East.
The preferred colour for women from Dubai/Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Iran for their lingerie, is red!
I, personally, think that it depends on the skin colour. For a brow girl, black lingerie. For a white girl, black or white lingerie. For a blonde girl, black lingerie, but some of the are very, very pretty in white, also.

I look for colors that flatter the skin tone of the person I'm buying for. I have a pinky skin and look nice in soft colors like pink, lavender, pale blue and cream. My daughter has ivory skin and red-brown hair, and she looks beautiful in sage green, any soft green really, ivory, champagne, peach, and honey brown type colors. My sister looks awesome in black! It all depends on the person.

I'm blonde with pale skin, so I love wearing black. (The goth in me loves it)
To be real sexy, I also love red or purple, and if I want to feel really pretty, I'll wear pastels like pink or a mint green.
