yes they are done...after today it will be 12 1/2 games back and tied for 3rd in the division (if theyre lucky)...They are only 2 games ahead of the tampa bay devil rays. They dont play as a team they are 24 individuals and derek jeter (the only team player they got). Roger Clemens is not gonna make that big a difference at 45 years old. And the Red Sox are the most complete team in baseball. If the Yankees were in any other division I would say they still had a chance, but not in the Sox's division. Cashman will be gone by the end of the year and Torre after the season. The Yankees right now are in disarray.

Sure looks that way. Brilliant move by Clemens to come back before the Yankees were out of it. If he waited any longer the Yankees would not have given him that much money because there would be no reason to.

I don't think they are done for they are just in a BIG slump. They have alot of talented players and the only thing that is holding them down is the pitching, Injured pitchers and guys who arn't getting the job done. Once we get Roger Clemen's in their the Yankees will use that and get back on track, Sure they are 10 games behind the Sox but they are still second in their division.

i don't think they are completely done for, but they had better get it together quickly, and hope the red sox start to fall apart...now, in 1978 they did come back from 14 games down in july to win the division in a one-game playoff, so it's not impossible but right now they are playing poorly...once their pitching gets back to full strength and some slumping hitters break out, they will make up some ground and give boston a run

they havent been playing well is right, but once they do, watch out. enjoy it while you can yankee haters, because its a long season and too many games to play to count them out. they will be there at the end.

yea, they are in big trouble this year, and for many years to come. Givin the players, & contracts they have now. It dosnt look like a bright future at all.

Maybe.

What is far worse is that, regardless, Yankees whiners -- and coming up fast on the inside, anti-Yankees gloaters -- are nowhere near finished. sigh.
