Yes, it really does fade during the times of fear. You start to panic and you can't think correctly, then you do stupid things.

This is a great question. In time of fear, I operate on my gut, my instinct, my history (what I've done in the past). If that's common sense, then I do.

Depends on the degree of fear...In many cases of high degree of fear, common sense has been known to have fled real fast! How unfortunate, when you need it most. Hence the advice, "Keep your cool."

No, that is what makes heroes. The adrenalin from fear enhances the common sense in these people and they do these heroic deeds. We see it as courage when this happens.
