Don't know. Do they have a memory?

You posed an interesting question, and I'm not sure if humanity can ever know the answer. Our species has the tendency to underestimate the capabilities of other lifeforms, though organic forms of memory processing are still well ahead of any machines we've as yet been able to develop. When we don't even really understand how bacteria transmit antibiotic immunities, how can we presume to know the minds of butterflies?

To answer your question, I hope they do have sensory memories from their caterpillar days, if only to contrast the delightful, elegant creatures they've become. Flitting from blossom to blossom and suckling nectar might seem a more enchanting existence if they've retained some imprints of themselves as ground-bound Beings.

No. in basic terms like a human won't be able to remember being a foetus, and a foetus cant remember being a sperm. Its a transitional faze from area one to area 2. You flow in the time of the variations and in basic terms stay as u are devoid of attractiveness of before. by way of fact people have been informed that they was once in our mothers womb its that understanding that we could us comprehend. yet we've not got a memory of it.

I would hope so, because being a worm can not be fun. Just think how much more the butterfly would appreciate its beauty.
