You can rip songs from CD's through iTunes and add those or you can download them free from limewire. You can also add any songs that you may have on your computer to your iPod.

I am a Limewire user, and have found no problems with it. However, be extremely careful using it because many problems can arise with viruses on Limewire.

Limewire actually has built in integration with iTunes. Once you have installed Limewire, go into the Options/Preferences menu. Click on "iTunes" in column to the left, and then click enable iTunes importing. The next time you download something from Limewire, the music file will got automatically strait to iTunes.

You don't have to download every song you want. For instance, you can import your own CDs into iTunes. Just download iTunes, and then insert the CD into your computer and click on the import button, and iTunes will do the rest.

Here's the deal. As far as I know ITunes is the only way to get music on your IPod but you don't have to buy the music. You CAN buy music on ITunes but it's also just a program to transfer music to the IPod. I use Morpheus to download free music, and I also put music from CD's on my computer. Once the music is on your computer just transfer it to your ITunes library and then you transfer it to your IPod, simple as that. It's all just drag and drop. Good luck.

You can use whatever you want for the music, but you have to put them into iTunes to put them onto the iPod.
