I have 1 gb of ram but the system is only recognizing 894, what is wrong?

Its a brand new hp pavilion amd athlon 64 3800.

Your onboard video is using the other 128 mb.

do u have dedicated or intergrated graphics ?

if u have intergrated, the motherboard takes memory and uses it for graphics memory, so u will see a smaller amount.

here nothing is wrong... means that 128 mb is the shared memory in you system... means that built in memory is 128 mb.........

thats what you have free after windows eats the rest for system
