7x + 3 > 6x + 12 can't include the = part!...don't know the key! but pretend it's there, OK?
7x + 3 - 6x > 6x + 12 - 6x sub. 6x from both sides
x + 3 > 12 actually subtracted here
x + 3 - 3 > 12 - 3 sub. 3 from both sides
x > 9
You would color in the 9 (to show the = part) and then color all numbers and the arrow to the right. All the numbers you colored will make the sentence true.

to solve for x you need to get x all by its self. First subtract 3 from both sides to get 7x>6x+9.
then subtract 6x from both x>9
so the solution it all numbers where x is greater than or equal to 9
