Ever since I cleaned my betta fishes water out, he doesn't eat a lot anymore. He used to have a plant in there, but I replaced it with a tiny castle. Is he going to die soon? He has not eaten much before.

My beta has gone thru this before...sometimes if you change their water and there's a difference in the temperature, that can shock them for a while and yes, as others have said, it might just be that castle! I keep plants in mine- cuttings from a philodendron, because he loves to lay on the leaves.I don't use any drops for chlorine I just purchase a big jug of drinking water...it won't kill the plants. Hope this helps. (MY beta is at least 4 yrs. old + !)

I suggest you buy a new plant for your fish and replace the castle. The replacement of the plant with the castle may have shocked your fish into not eating, he may be confused or think he is not in his territory anymore. If your fish still eats, but not as much, your fish should be fine as long as it continues to eat.

Did you dechlorinate the water? What are you feeding? Has the room temperature changed? How old is the fish?
