You are entitled to stay true to your beliefs. If they really value you as a person, they will respect your decision to remain a virgin until you are married. It's not easy in this day and age to maintain those fervently held beliefs because we are constantly bombarded by all different types of sexual images. You have a right to demand respect for your beliefs. After all, everybody else always clamors for respect.
You are not weird, strange, or anything of the kind. Your friends may end up regretting their decisions later if they end up pregnant or with some type of disease. Don't judge your friends, but don't allow them to do the same either. When they talk about their experiences, just grin and bear it. If that's all they do and you can tell that they are deliberately trying to make you uncomfortable, then you might want to consider getting a new group of friends and acquaintances.

It is not weird. On the other hand, just because your sister, or girlfriend enjoys sex does NOT make them into whores either.
Sex is THE most natural thing in the world. It is what keeps the species going. Religion, and local customs and laws that we either believe in or are afraid of usually dictate our own attitude towards sex, and that of those around us.
DON'T be a sheep like 95% of the population. Decide what is right and comfortable for you. If you fall in love and change your mind later - that's fine too.
Remember that it is not so long ago that marriage was considered a cardinal sin by the Church. (This was because if you were married and your partner died then you inherited his goods and chattels. If he was single and popped his clogs then his belongings became Church property.)
Some girls 'lose their cherries' at as young as eleven and have maybe ten years of enjoyable sex that they would have missed out on if they had hung on until getting married at twenty-one, say.
Other females die virgins at a ripe old age. I look on it like snowboarding: If it floats your boat and isn't harming anyone else, then remain as pure as driven snow - or have the guys queue up to take their turn.
It is YOUR body and your life, so don't let others run it for you.
PS: Do you masturbate? Or totally abstain from sex? You can be a bit of a hypocrite just keeping your legs crossed for the boys, but 'abusing' yourself. Or you could be like me and enjoy indulging in both.

Just to say, it's pretty sad when 16-year-olds are talking about their sex lives. It's high school! Sex lives shouldn't really start developing until your in college. You girls should be talking about clothes, cute boys, movies, and sexy guys on the football team... not sex. If you've ever watched Sex & The City, those ladies are all over 35 and they're talking about sex. They're not 16. Try and change the subject with your girlfriends if you feel uncomfortable. They shouldn't be talking abou that anyway.
As for waiting until marriage, that's not weird at all. Actually, it's quite admirable. With so many people just runnning out and sleeping with everyone & anyone, it's awesome that you've decided to wait until it's with someone special. :)

It is not weird. Though unfortunately those who don't wait, make us seem like there's something wrong with us for wanting to wait. I'm assuming you're 16 also. Even more difficult for you, since you have many years ahead of you until you marry.
Nothing seems to be a big deal or special anymore. We either down play the situation or want it now! I admire your decision to wait. Seek those who support the same ideal you do. I mean, you must have a strong family or religious support for wanting to wait until you marry to have sex. I'm not saying dump you're best friends. You love them for being there for you. You love them for being who they are. But you should not partake in a behavior that you, yourself do not feel comfortable.
Life is complicated enough. If you wait until you're married, you won't have to worry about STDs, any birth control complications or unplanned pregnancy.
Best wishes and good luck! :-)

you're way too young. when your friends have herpes and get pregnant then i think you'll be happy to be felt left out of that. As for waiting till marriage I'm kinda on the fence on that. When you are with someone there has to be a physical part to the relationship and if you never explore that and wait till you get married and there's no chemistry in the bedroom then those problems will show their way outside of the bedroom. However if you are religious and terrified of going to hell for premarital sex, then there is nothing wrong with waiting till marriage. In fact it is a very respectable thing, not many people can do that. But if you're gonna do it anyways remember to be responsible about it and protect yourself.

No it is not weird. There are many people who would like to wait until they are married. I think you are doing the right thing. Wait...think about it...what if you get pregnant??? Then you have to take care of a baby through your whole life and oyu may not be able to do the things you want to do. Do not et pressured into it! It may feel tough but i would suggest to just wait till you are married or until you really think you are ready!

No way it's not weird! I am waiting for religious reasons, but even if you aren't religious you should wait until the right person (the person you will marry) There's no point in doing it at 16, because it's very unlikely that they will be with that person for the rest of there life. There is no point in doing something now that you'll later regret. <3

WAIT for it!!!!!! don't do it until ur married. there's pressure all the time, but think about it in the long run. when u get married, don't u think ur spouse would want a child that's really his own? and even if u use birth control or abortion (or whatever to prevent u from having a baby), its still better to wait. its like buying a used car or a new one. your spouse would want a new car. this is kinda a weird way to put it, but u get my drift, right?

You are not weird for wanting to wait. Don't give in to peer pressure even though they are not literally pressuring you. I gave up my virginity when I was sixteen and even though I cannot change it, I regret it.
Sex complicates things and gets you too emotionally involved. You have more important things and priorities right now at your age.
