American Soldier by Toby Keith is a great song that is a great tribute to soldiers everywhere! When I went to a Toby concert I called my friend who is a marine when Toby sang that song and he was so grateful. The song is not politcal but just a statement which shows how grateful we are and know how hard the troops work!

When my nephew was headed out to the Air Force, right after graduation we did something that many thought would embarrass him, and yet to our own surprise, we brought him down with tears ....but of happiness. We showed him just how much we loved him and wanted him to know we gave him our blessings in life. This is something that was really neat. We made passport of every year of his life since he was a kid. Fake passports of course, with a picture of his birth, one year old, two, three..etc etc. And in each passport, we put his name, the one the family would give him..he always had nicknames. Then we made an itinerary for him. We labeled the plane ticket as "Destination Unknown in Life" and in that itinerary, we put all the wishes and hopes we have for him and left some blank for his own. Then we got a black small suitcase and placed some maps, put his passports in there, his itinerary and each family member contributed $100 in ones....after 20 of us, with $1's in stacks of $100 it looked pretty awesome to him. Then we all took turns in telling him, "Your future is unknown but it was your past that made us love you for who you are, it's your future who will bring you someone in this life to love you even more!" and we kissed him "Bye for now" NEVER SAY GOODBYE....its a new beginning, let him know it. Wish you luck!
