I would suggest you to go for Emirates to Cochin or Trivandrum sectors, on time performance and excellent service.
How can we rely on our "Maharajah"?. Especially while traveling with family and children.

Air India is cheaper, but Emirates is better.
Air India has a delay in nearly all its flights from Dubai especially if your flights depart Dubai in the eve.
Emirates is better.

At the moment all flights from UAE to India are packed, probably because the holidays have started. Keep trying with your travel agent and take whatever airline confirmed booking you get ! Hope you get a cheap fare and direct flight.
