Most diagnostic error codes (DEC) can be found on every maintenance manual of every model years wether be from GM,FORD, or CHRYSLER. I don't know very much about foriegn cars if they sells maintenance books for their products. All American cars manuals can be ordered from the dealers. Most diagnostic or scan tools has a built in programs for you to follow. Some of this are very expensive and Auto repair shops uses them. Personal scan tools are also available. The scan tools that I used is the OTC Monitor 4000E which comes with a complete adapter kits for all 3 American automobile manufacturer. It also comes with a users manual for you to follow. Some Scan tools can also be hooked up directly to the engines, and you can monitor and adjust the problems after driving. Scanmaster is the name of this product. If you are interested to buy or have something like this on your own, You can call directly to the Manufacturer to order your scan tools. Note: the Otc monitor 4000E is always upgraded to meet the newer (year) cars, so ask them all this information to make sure that it can be used whatever year of car you have... Last but not least are some of the famous error codes that GM used...Code12 error code diagnostic system functioning properly...13---oxygen(02) sensor circuit open...14 coolant temp-- high temp....15 coolant temp---low temp....21 Throttle position sensor (tps) signal voltage high.......22 (tps) signal voltage low... 33 &34 Mass air flow (MAF) high flow/low flow...etc...Anyway, goodluck on your search...
