We have loads of Holiday 8mm Tapes from the Video Camcorder. I am trying to put them on my PC, edit them and then burn them to DVD. I have included with the Camcorder a Yellow (VIDEO) and a White (AUDIO L/MONO) which connects to the camera.
I know there are many TV Cards but If I get a Video Capture Card I need an AGP one as I have used up the PCI Slot (a Graphics Card). I am a UK Resisident.
If there any Videos, Software, Tips and Tricks then I will be very Greatfull.
THANKS!!

Use something like ATI All-in-Wonder or a Happauage PVR card that can accept the connections, you play the cam into the PC's software and you just record .

I use an ADStech DVDxpress which plugs in via USB 2.0 also works on 1.1 its a box that plugs into the computers USB port that allows you to connect any analog video device using RCA type audio video cables or S-Video it comes with a program called CapWiz that allows you to capture the video from the device to your hard drive. Also it comes with ulead video studio and ulead DVD maker. I Do not use the version of Ulead that came with it but instead I use ulead videostudio 10 Plus It works much better and has special effects, transitions and lots of nice editting features. This would probably be the simplest and cheapest solution. I hope this helps good luck

If you have a mini dv (cassette) camcorder…. Your dv camcorder needs a firewire connection (ieee 1394) in order to download video, your PC probably did not come with a firewire port, so you will have to buy one and install it, since most computers (except possibly brand new) don't come with a firewire port, your camcorder did not come with a firewire cord so you have to purchase a cord too. Your camcorder did come with a USB cord and that is used for downloading stills from your camcorder. Make sure your camera is in playback mode. Use a good editing program.

get pinnacle 10....it is amazing what you can do with it...but your first hurdle is a capture card...if you can get a pinnacle one then you will get the software you need to copy...it will copy from video recorders...camcorders...tv...dvd...it doesn't matter....the interface is very easy to use...you will be flying
