I have Alltel, just in case it matters! Or, can I just buy a card at a store? I just don't understand wireless internet! Someone explain....

Where do I get the wireless card if alltell doesn't have it?

first go and buy your self a linksys wireless-g router [cost about 100 -120$] get it hooked up. next your router should come with a wireless usb adapter that will connect to you desktop!!!

I do not think that altel has WAN crds, I think only Verizon, cingulair and Tmobile. It is pretty expensive, but it is COOL. If you just want wifi, to use your computer at school an freinds house or a coffee shop, most have it bult in now

You need a wireless router to broadcast your internet, then your laptop will need a wireless card to connect to it.

just get a card and go to a near by labtop store and they should help you
