Why are some people digusted by Interracial Coupling?

I can't name anyone disgusted by interracial coupling, so I can't hazard a guess. If you know someone, you should ask them.

I'm disgusted by the whole "baby-mama" mentality. All these girls and guys with various kids by various boyfriends/girlfriends. I think this destruction of the historical family will be the eventual downfall of mankind. It's a shame that committed gay couples can't adopt children easily while any hormone driven chav can pop them out willy-nilly.

I am from Mississippi......yes the state where everyone thinks we are not out of the slavery days. We have more and more interracial marriages the past few years and as for disgust I don't see or hear so much about that other than what we see how the kids are not really being accepted in the "black" community of the father/mother. Then the other way around also. Frankly, when I meet someone I don't think of their sexual preferances, its not my business. Just another couple to me. I just think of the kids being accepted in their communities more. 95% of the black men though who are found dating a white girl ends up going on to college or off to work and marry one of their own race. They are the ones making that decision.....not racisim or anyone else.

A few years ago I read a blurb on the Gallup Poll site, where they look at an issue over time.

In the 50s, about 80% of Americans disapproved of interracial couples. By the 90s that had dropped to about a third.

So I'd say that attitude is dying.

I gather that people now in their teens and twenties are even more accepting of interaccial couples, and do more of it -- actually, hang out in mixed race groups of friends, more than earlier generations.

The few who object are hateful morons; ignore them.

I don't know; seems to me the children of interracial couples tend to get the best of both parents. The best good looks, the best brains, the most good sense. But then, I prefer mongrel dogs to AKC types, too.

These people are ignorant and still living in a different time period. They are very narrow minded and I ignore them and embrace the fact that I am with a man of a different race, skin color, and culture. There is nothing wrong with dating people of different races and cultures. We are all human beings and God created man and woman so that they could unite. He never said that he made white people so that they could date other white people or blacks so that they could date only other black people and so forth and so forth.

at first glance I personally thought the answer would be, bigotry, As i thought more about it i, thought it; a double standard: meaning interracial couple being :
2 women = no problem in most of societies "eyes"
2 male = (regardless of race) more frowned upon within societies
cau male, female of color, African descent, Spanish descent, native American. oriental, etc. etc. as a couple. = totally acceptable by society at large.
black male ,white woman unacceptable by society at large (except if you break it down and poll by race)Spanish descent, native American. oriental, etc.etc. seemingly more acceptable.

General ignorance and the myth of "pure blood" have a lot to do with it. Confront people politely about it and you may get some converts to the side wisdom. I've always had a deep and abiding attraction to all females.

It's only disgusting if the people look disgusting. Otherwise, no one cares. I know that when I was walking into Wal-Mart this interracial couple was walking out of the entrance as I was coming in, and I rolled my eyes at them. I rolled my eyes because they looked at me like I was in THEIR way!

She walked off saying "It's okay. She just jealous (sic)." Then I got really annoyed and it got me to thinking...why do interracial couples think all black women are hating on them?

I don't care about what other people do. I certainly don't look at skin color in that way. And to top it off, she was hideous and he looked like a total loser.

some people are just behind the times, and then some people are just attracted to their own races. There's nothing wrong witht that, but there is also nothing more beautiful than two people who love eachother, especially when they love and appreciate the differences. Do what makes you happy.

Close minded. They can't adapt to the theory that we are all equal in creation and just one race called the Human Race.
