im trying to reinstall Xp on my computer...i have an f drive so im saving everything on my f drive from my c drive so that ican have a backup of everything but the file ntuser.dat wont copy

NTUSER.DAT is the User portion of the Registry. That's where the specific information for user customization, application settings and the like is stored, so it will be "in use" for the user(s) that is/are logged on to the system.
