Thank you all for answering my question, I think I'll stick to a female betta. The female betta I have now has dropsy and has been treated with no luck.

No. Tiger barbs are somewhat aggressive with each other and the smaller will certainly get beaten badly by the larger or more aggressive fish. In addition to that they will out grow a 1 gallon tank in fairly short order.

No, it's not even possible to keep one tiger barb healthy and alive in a one gallon tank.

They are schooling fish, but need to be kept in groups of at least 6 or more so they don't nip. Two is trouble most of the time.

As a general rule, use one gallon for each inch of fish. For example, you can have 20 1-inch fish in a 20 gallon aquarium or 10 2-inch fish.

Therefore, two tiger barbs in one gallon is not recommended. Especially since they're both drawn to the middle of the tank. Fish either have upward drawn mouths (because they like to feed from the surface), straight forward mouths, because they hang out in lower waters, or downward turned mouths (like catfish) for feeding off the bottom. It's a good idea to have a mixture (by mouth type) so that they each have their own territory. They'll get along much better that way.

NO IT WOULDNT BE OK THEY NEED A 5 GALON AT LEAST, Plus they are a schooling fish meaning they need to be in groups of 6 or more and 2 would fight and one would end up dead, If you have a one gallon tank get 2 ghost shrimp or a betta

Nope, the barbs are territorial and need a good sized aquarium to be happy and healthy. I wouldn't try to keep them in anything less than 10g tank.
