I'm aware that many troops have died in the war, however I respect their decision of becoming a soldier, they knew the consequences of being put on the front line.

What my main concern is those of you who oppose the war because you think we're only there to steal their oil.

Are you aware that everyone in the world needs oil? When our own supply runs out, how are you going to drive your cars to work or take the bus? How will you take a vacation or visit family members on an airline?

What about the Iraqi insurgents who continue to murder their own people, or continue to behead citizens from other countries who simply do not have the same religious beliefs?

Many of you seem to think that I support the killing of innocent Iraqi citizens for oil.. That is NOT the case. Do you fail to realize that their own people who are extremists are killing off innocent citizens everyday? If we don't defend them, who will?

Gas prices don't phase me. I love our troops, I don't want to see any die, but I don't want my country or others coming to an end because Muslim extremists can't grip the reality that others differ from them.

I've read all your responses, and the one thing that seems to go right past everyone is the absurdity of "stealing" Iraqi oil.

Has anyone ever considered the implausibility of that scenario? How would the U.S. steal the oil? Would it secretly dock tanker ships on the coast in the dead of night and just "fill 'em up"? What kind of childish images of the world do these people have? Just like every other member of OPEC, Iraqi oil is sold on the open market. The money from this oil goes into the Iraqi treasury.

Think of how many hundreds of billions of dollars we have spent on the war. Now, imagine by some miracle we got the Iraqis to give us oil at half price (an absurd premise, but just to illustrate). How many years of cheaper oil would it take just to pay for the cost of the war? As you see, the notion that the war was for oil is absurd.

United States military is not in Iraq to steal oil.

United States military is in Iraq to execute a regime change, set up an Iraqi government that is pro America, like what the CIA did in Iran in 1954 when Kermit Roosevelt toppled Prime minister Mossadeq, and installed Shah Pahlavi.

A pro America Iraqi government will priced oil exclusively in US dollars, create demand for the US dollar, preserving the Dollar hegemony.

Prior to the invasion of Iraq, Saddam demanded for Euros for Iraqi oil under the UN's oil for food program. After the invasion, all contracts for Iraqi oil were immediately reverted back to US dollars.

Rising oil price is due to the declining strength of the dollar. As we borrow more to finance the budget defecit, and print more US dollars inflating the money supply, reducing the value of the dollar.

The decision of an individual soldier to join the service is irrelevant. I was against the decision to invade from the beginning because it wasn't necessary. There was no clear and present danger from Iraq. Oil never entered my thinking at the time but if you were to ask me then what I think about it I would tell you that the US has no moral or legal right to invade a sovereign nation simply to take their natural resources. We've had over 30 years to deal with our dependence on foreign oil and we haven't done nearly enough.

No, it was not iraqie oil but we met to determine how we could raise our prices here and get the oil companies rich. We started raising prices when the war started and will continue until it ends or our man is out of office.People all over the world are dying.I need the billions for my children.

One of the ugliest reasons for war is to stimulate an ailing economy. And that is really what Cheney and Bush are all about.

The Middle East has been a hotbed of religious strife for thousands of years. Our own Constitution tells us to not make any laws respecting and establishment of religion, that is we have no business in their religious conflicts.

The oil is indeed the major reasons we went to war in Afghanistan and IRAQ.

I believe it was Occidental Petroleum and Mobile Oil in the 1990's that wanted to build a pipeline across Afghanistan to open up distribution markets from the oil rich region of Kazahkstan. The only reason Pakistan, India, China and Russia are not stepping up to the plate militarily to defend IRAQ or Afghanisatn is because all of these countries benefit from the oil. The Taliban at the time were not cooperating with Mobile or Occidental Petroleum. So the plan for war against Afghanistan was already on table pre-911. 9-11-01 was a self inflicted act of domestic terrorism by the Govt of America against it's own people to persuade public and world opinion to go to war against Afghanistan.

The three extraneous lies that created the IRAQ war
1) The fictitious wmds
2) The fictitious ties to Al Quaida
3) The fictitious ties 911.

All of the above are high crimes and misdemeanors against the American people and third world countries.

Oil is only one factor. Others include the massive profits lining the pockets of often corrupt government contractors and armaments producers. There are also the conservative "think tanks" that advocate the US imposition, by force, of governments that will supposedly be more pliable to the whims of US corporations. There are many reasons to oppose Bush's Iraq disaster than oil and the waste of so many US soldiers and resources.

Beauty and Brains to boot. THAT'S SEXY!! Apparently some people missed the news clips of SODOMY HUSSEIN shaking his dick at our UN council! He has tried and failed to become a martyr for his beliefs!! Oil plays no part in the game. I'm glad some people can see that fact. We most likely wouldn't be there if Ol GWB #1 hadn't left him in power when they were giving up news reporters! Does anyone other than me think this was a part of a larger plan. By hardly firing a shot he gained over a year to play his games and act tough!!!! BIG MISTAKE!!! I'd be willing to bet he buried any WMD that he had.

Every soldier I've seen comment on the war says things are going A LOT better than you see on the news, and that the soldiers firmly believe what they are doing over there is right. The media fails to show you the positive things going on over there; like the building of roads, schools, universities, parks, hospitals and how most Iraqis' want us over there. I don't believe we are there for oil, but I would support it even if it were the reason. WE NEED OIL, our society and economy depend on it! For all the things we have done for the Iraqis', some oil in exchange for what we've done should be expected.

I strongly believe that we must stablize this young government and hopefully have a strong ally in the unstable Mid East, against the war on terror. Islamic terrorism is a threat we cannot turn our backs on. It will only get bigger and stronger if we leave it alone. They are hell bent on converting every nation to Islamic sharia law. If we don't fight the terrorists in Iraq, we'll be fighting them somewhere else!

I oppose the war because I am a non interventionist. We have no business meddling in the internal affairs of foreign countries, period.
Besides, only an empty vessel like W could start a war for oil and not even get any!
