You can take extra strength tylenol...Just take one tablet or follow the directions that are on the bottle. If your really concerned about what you can take call your doctors office, there should be someone standing by to be able to help you.
Also, a lot of women go through lack of sleep during pregnancy, as long as your getting some sleep it's good. Just sleep when you can...I get up all the time now and I'll be 30 weeks on Tuesday. Just be sure your sleeping as much as you can.

I don't think taking anything at all is a great cure. It's a side affect of the pregnancy! Try taking a nice hot shower or bath with some of those aroma therapy things that help you get to sleep. They sell them at walmart and pretty much everywhere else. When you get out of the shower try putting a warm wash cloth over your eyes. Avoid all caffiene and don't eat before bed. This could give you energy you don't want. I have the same problem, which I had even before being pregnant and that's what I do and it seems to work for me.

If this were me, I'd probably go to see someone sooner (urgent care). This could be an indication of a more serious problem. I'm sorry you feel so miserable! I know Tylenol can be safe but unless you have specific information from your doctor, I wouldn't chance taking anything. See if you can find an urgent care facility in your area that is covered by your insurance. You shouldn't have to suffer this long!

i'm 18 weeks today and i don't sleep nearly as much as i did a couple weeks back. the headaches went away for me, thank god... but when i had them were HORRIBLE! my doctor told me that sometimes all you need is a glass of soda or cup of coffee (for the caffiene) to make the headaches go away, and sometimes that worked. but usually for me it was a lack of water intake. :) when i drink water they don't show up... so, hopefully this helps you out a little!

tylenol is pretty much the only OTC meds that you can take for headache. Your doctor can prescribe a heavier medication for you when you see them. My doc prescribed Duradrin for me. Why don't you try calling your doc and see if they will call in an Rx before you see them?

Not getting any sleep will not affect the baby. You can take the normal dosage of tylenol, but I would not take any sedatives.
