I at least deserve a star!

My washing machine would not empty or spin. There was no action at all when it came to those cycles. I figured it had somthing to do with the little gizmo that the pin from the lid hits when you shut the lid. Sure enough, I took the machine apart, and the "lid switch" had come loose.
I FIXED IT ALL BY MY SELF! Anyone out there try to "fix it yourself"???

Oh yes, I have to be. When my washer (I have a twin tub) spin basket was overflowing I took it apart and found a sock covering the outlet valve.... works fine now. I am in the process of renovating my house.... and while I thought I had a lot of money to spend, I now know it is pitifully inadequate... therefore I am painting myself, tiling, ripping out cabinets, anything I can do... I do.... and even if I cant, I have a try!

The pipes under the kitchen sink were leaking and my husbands idea of fixing it was putting a bucket there. I took it apart, brought the pipe to the store, got the right tools, asked a couple of questions and fixed it myself.

Yes we have a farm and I can work on simple things like lawn mowers and tractors.I do all the electronics at the house. He does water pipes, electrical ,I don't touch electrical terrified of that. But we are pretty even on most stuff. He is just a lot physically stronger than I am. And he can lift a lot more. But a lot of times he has to ask me what I think and we work it out together. We work on washers, dryers, animal feeders waters, etc.all kinds of equipment always going on the blink and he's not always around. So sometimes it's just me and one of my daughters and we go fix it.

I am pretty handy too. I do have to walk away from some projects due to frustrations though.

No, and I don't intend to. Good for you, you fixed your washer, but I don't need to be informed. Your story was very interesting.(...)
