War, it's perfect. People get killed, supplies and food are redistributed, and knowing human nature, it's bound to happen sooner or later. Hey, if we're not going to live in perfect harmony, we'd might as well make a plus of it...

Before the most modern era (the last century or two at most) overpopulation was controlled by war and disease. People get excited by the few (as percent of population) people killed in modern wars. In the time of the Romans and before, 10,000 or more people would be killed in a single battle on on day. The Black Plague in the Middle Ages killed people by the hundreds of thousands.
Many people do not want to end their lives in nursing homes or hospitals, stuck on respirators and tubes. This is the main reason for increasing life spans; people being kept alive artificially.
One of the chief culprits is the Church. (Be fruitful, go forth and multiply.) But, nowadays, the single most crucial factor is the Government. Everywhere I have ever lived, the local Government has a single-minded notion of "growing". They can't realize that an increasing population is taxing the food supply, the water supply, leads to suicides, everything that is called "evil".
What's the answer? Until the politicians have the gonads to say "NO!" it is in the hands of the people. If every married couple would wait until they are 30 - 40 to have a child, and then have only 1 child, the population would start to decrease. Only the U.S. amongst the top nations is having an increase in population and that is entirely due to immigration.

At present, there may not be a problem of overpopulation. The trick is that every human born should be willing to sustain himself, and respect the right of others to do the same. Today, we produce more agricultural products than ever, and thru science and engineering, we use land that could not be used before. We can continue to do so for the immediate future, although of course not forever.
Individuals become more productive thru education. Today, not only there are more people than ever, we also live better than the kings that lived in other centuries.
Further, we humans can decide whether to have children or not. Centuries ago, families were expected to have at least six kids. Today, they are happy with two, some with less. Population will stabilize by itself.
You talk about a cure as something the people in power should impose to fix a problem. As you see, there is no need to do anything.

I must agree Education and free sterilization for whom ever would want it and can't afford it. It should be offered after childbirth to both MEN and woman, just like a breathe mint after a dinner. I feel strongly that all criminals should loose there rights and be sterilized for any sentence longer than twenty years, all murderers and sexual offenders no matter the term. If they can not support the children they created, then it should be done to be eligible for Welfare benefits.
I do feel very strong about this. I would back a plan to do these things, civil liberties my ***!
With the full support of religious leaders. Many in the world will not practice birth control of religious or cultural reasons That needs to change, since most are the poorest and sickest cultures in the world.
I believe instead of limiting the children born, we consider the well being of the ones here and the "creation" of life they will be making, since they need us so much more than we care to imagine.

We don't. We do every thing possible to extend life, cure sickness, and heal injuries. We prevent abortions by de facto court decisions, laws, and practices. We allow free access to the national assets and treasuries by citizens of third world countries. All of these go to increase the world population.
The only solution at this late date is to let nature take its course and deal with the pandemic when it arises as it inevitablly must. Just like rats in an overpopulated warren. Billions will die, thinning the population as we once more learn who is actually in charge of this planet. The only way to aviod this fate is to flee the planet.

i individually have not got faith we'd desire to consistently legalise issues that could desire to kill human beings off including euthanasia and abortion. fairly euthanasia, that's a start up of a slippery slope. it might make those with disabilities very just about compelled into the descision as they'll experience a burden on their families. It additionally undermines the dedication of medical doctors. we could even however provide extra incentive to families to in basic terms have small families. additionally discourage underage intercourse and supply out unfastened birth control. whilst the protection of all life is substantial, it might additionally be our very own downfall. i realize it sounds an prolonged techniques of yet colonization of the moon may be a solid way out and perhaps different planets.

Genocide...let's not think that one.
We're not being overpopulated, first of all...but if this were to happen, then I think we should stop reproducing freely. Which doesn't sound right. A lot of teens get pregnant only because they weren't protected, not for the deliberate wanting of a baby, so I guess if they were to be more protected, the population would decrease.
And I think the scientists should stop trying to make products that could expand our lifetime. We were meant to die naturally, and not live for so long.

In 50 years at our current rate of growth, we'll be at 10 billion souls, with zero fossil fuels, zero coal and other natural resources. Will technology save the day?...possibly. We will live more 'green', with zero or negative population growth?....doubful. Will some cataclysmic event bring us back down to more sustainable levels...say 3 billion?....probably.

there is plenty of space on Earth for double or triple of current number...Natural Law doing its job perfectly...Problem is that people have a tendency to crowd in density locally...overpopulation is in local spaces, that amplify all kind of fears and fears create denial one of another...That was plague all about, natural disasters all about....people call it wrath of God...bullshit, it is our own creation based on ignorance...Unity does not mean to stick together on a short leash....it has much broader meaning....I Meanwhile people presuming all kind of "cure" for overpopulation which does not exist in truth...Control over others is a base of all, offering restrictions of a freedom to be which is our birth right..All offers has negative connotations, containing pain, suffering, loses, by the way personal, for body are an ability to be alive on Earth. Who, tell me, entitle people to make decisions of such stupid proportions???? Man, why you first make an encouraging example for others, just cut your balls off....savior....just because presence of other humans bothering your being....Do it before lawmakers legislate new stupid laws related to psycho idea of overpopulation and its cure. Be sure that lawmakers and above will safe their balls to present a clear picture later who is an idiot and who is simply bastard....

genocide is wrong, look where it got Hitler, with selective breeding the offspring are more susceptible to disease and everyone will die off. Population control, well China does it, but it is not as heavily enforced in certain areas, eugenics....what??? Honestly, my solution is to move people to Antarctica, the north pole and all of those uninhabited islands. Yeah!!!
God Bless!!
