The situation is that the Mormon Church discriminated against me twice on the basis of criminal back ground and mental illness. After convincing me that baptism into their Church was the only way into Heaven, they told me that I could not get baptized because I was on parole. This caused me alot of emotional anguish because my crime was triggered by abuse. They offered no counceling services for the intense emotions brought up when my Salvation was postponed and criticized me for calling the missionaries all the time crying. Then almost a year later when I got off parole, I was denied baptism on the basis of mental illness. I'm Bipolar and they said that I might not be accountable for my sins and would not be able to keep a covenant with God. All the improvements I made didn't please them. I have no written proof that they discriminated against me.

You will not find salvation or Jesus Christ through the LDS. The Mormon church cannot decide to save you or postpone your salvation.

Jeremiah 29:13 [God says] "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart". There is no exception! Whether you're handicapped, abused, have committed crimes ...doesn't matter. You know why? God's Word tells us our "righteousness is as filthy rags". God doesn't give us His grace based on our perfect performance! He *makes* us His children even though we are weak and pitiful and without excuse. "While we were still sinners, Christ died for us". Romans 5:8. Christ took me - a filthy, sad piece of work and transformed me into His child.

1 Thessalonians 5:9 For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. 10 He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep [dead or alive], we may live together with him.

Jesus Christ wants *you* as you are. There is hope for you outside of the LDS.

2 Corinthians 12:9
But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

I am not a lawyer but it sounds like you wouldn't have much of a case without written proof that it happened. I would try some other churches of different faiths until I found one where I felt at home in. I did that and I am very happy. The Mormon church is not the only church. It is certainly not the only way to heaven. The only way to heaven is trusting the Lord Jesus and asking God to forgive your sins. Then live your life to the best of our ability the way Jesus would want you to. Try and find a church that preaches Christ and the forgiveness of sins.

LDS Incorporate is basically a front for the gender challenged. You being mentally ill and a criminal doesn't rate with the challenges these TRUE LDS face. They are women haters, polygamists and serial monogamists......if you fit these criterion you are ONE!

Be glad Christ spared you from the MacDonald's of American Religion...designed to make everyone much of nothing but sick and never saved through grace only through works.

These folks need a shove into the 21st century....see the video GOD MAKERS on youtube...enlightening.

You haven't been discriminated against. In Mormon theology you don't need to be baptized in order to go to heaven if you are not accountable, or die before the age of accountability. By telling you that you are not accountability they have waived that requirement - so you have been truly blessed instead of discriminated against. You can enjoy every blessing of being a member without baptism. Just ask your bishop to put your name on the membeship records with the annotation that you are not accountable. Voila, you are a privileged member.

It sounds like you've got some serious issues my friend.....and those issues weren't caused by the Mormons.

When it comes down to it, they're a private organization, and can accept or reject anyone for any reason. They're not responsible for how you react to their rejection. You have no case. No lawyer will take it unless you pay him $300 per hour upfront, and then you'll loose.

Get some counseling.

Here is what you really need to do:

Find a qualified mental health professional to speak with and be sure you are taking medication for your condition. Bi-polar can be controlled with the right medicine and positive therapy.

Next, you should seriously check into some other denominations of the Christan faith. Don't dwell on this one issue. There are many churches out there. Check out a variety and see what one meets your needs the best.

That is an unfortunate and sad story.

Perhaps I can try to explain the issue of the mental illness. You were not "denied" baptism, but instead it was reasoned that you do not "require" baptism for your salvation. Therefore, if you have a testimony of the Restored Gospel, you should be secure in your spiritual safety.

...sue..?

again...?....let it go. a law suit is no good here.

plainly they have created a conditional acceptance contract based on selective intangible and unproven conditions.

for you to get upset over this indicates that each of you have a dim vision of what is salvageable.

and it is inflamed and made worse (though perhaps to some larger clarification) while you seek to show them their discriminations and as they show you what is discriminatory.

and you believe money is a healing commodity in exchange for the greater realization...? do you..?

fools abounding...

stop worrying about it....you won't be happy together anyway based on these ideas.

be well

Find another Ward, these issues are handled locally. My nephew was bipolar and had no trouble getting baptized. Of course since he was bipolar he just wanted out within a short time, then back in again...

If they have judged that you are not accountable, then you ahve nothing to worry about. Those who are not accountable go straight to the Celestial Kingdom when they die (do not pass go, do not...wait, that's something else! ;-))

Live your life as if you HAVE made those covenants, and you will have nothing to worry about. If you are not permitted baptism, that's not YOUR fault and God does not hold that against YOU.
