What size tank do you have? African Cichlids, Oscars, and Jack Dempsey's are some very pretty and social fish if you have a large enough tank. For a smaller tank, I would recommend a mixture of guppies and neon tetra's since both are very colorful. Apple or mystery snails will help keep your tank clean too and are fun to watch. If you like the exotic, you can't go wrong with Piranha's. I have 7 myself. Good luck!

It will really depend on the size of your tank, but since it's unheated a fish that will do well in cooler temperatures would be a good idea. I would suggest a few White clouds as a good choice.

If the tank is heated, try some african cichlids, be careful which tropical fish you end up co habititating, cichlids tend to be terratorial and will kill some kinds of other fish, talk to your pet shop/fish shop before you buy.
Happy fishin!

gold fish because if you lose electric then you are safe. They can handle some heat and cold and they can breathe without air tube. They are cheap to feed and easy to take care of.

neons are easy to take care of and not to costly, they also look really cool... ghost shrimp are also good because they clean the bottom of the tank.

Maybe try guppies, mollies, or something along those lines. You can't get much with the set up you seem to have.
