Seems to me, we're damned if we do and damned if we don't.
People want us to step up and be the awesome country that we are by helping other countries out and ****, but then when we try to liberate another country, people get pissed like we should mind our buisiness or somthing.
Maybe people just love to hate America. I don't like people who hate America, especially the ones that still call themselves Americans.

I could site here and list off about 20 good reasons why Iraq war was not "preemptive."

...like the time that saddam tried to assasinate our president...or the dozens of times that he killed American soldiers and his own people.

and the same people that say the Iraq war was unprovoked and was preempted by the president are the same people that think we should go save the people in darfur....what did sudan do to the united states...nothig....but they, like saddam hussei have commited many crimes against humanity...but thats only enough reason to invade a country when the liberals want it to be...and anyways, saddam did more than commit crimes against humanity...he comitted crimes against THIS COUNTRY, and he harboured terrorist. the president said in a speech 9 days BEFORE 9/11 that he woudl take out such countries.

As you can see, the first responder pretty much told you
like it is, the next two are blasting the US for going into
Iraq, RKO says that we are attacking a sovereign nation
ignoring the fact that Bill Clinton bombed Iraq for 4 days
but his reasons were different, he was in the middle of
his Lewinski battles and needed to deflect attention from
that, even his own advisers told him that this was not the
time, He also forgets that UN Resolution 687 gave us the
authority to go into Iraq, Bill Clinton signed the Iraq Liberation
Act, in support of removing Saddam from power.

But as you well know, if we do one thing, the other party
is against us. Guess you can't please all of the people
all of the time and you can't please the Liberals anytime

you no why people say that america should mind there own businees. becasue when america goes to another country improve that country but the truth is taht they just make it even worse. If you compare both the american and the iraqi causilies. You will see taht theer have been more childiren and womens killed since amreica went to iraq then the terriorst. Why doesnt america just stay where they are and try to improve there own economy. THe thig is that the people who die in wars be it the solders or the civilians. None of those indivduals are related to the politions who start the war. The only things peole like bush do is go and salute the solders who are dead and then give a 5 min speah and come home and return to there normal lives.

We are NOT 'liberating' another country; we illegally and unconstitutionally attacked another sovereign nation that in no way threatened, provoked or attacked the U.S.A. The Bush administration intended to attack Iraq since the very first day it stepped foot in the White House, for three appallingly lame reasons:
1) The Bush family had a personal vendetta against Saddam Hussein ever since the days of Desert Storm when George H.W. Bush was criticized, ridiculed and humiliated for "not finishing the job' and ousting Hussein at that time;
2) Dick Cheney and his Exxon-Mobil buddies wanted all that OIL swimming underneath Iraq's sands so they could feed America's addiction on cheap, easily-accessible foreign OIL and get richer and richer and richer;
3) Ever since World War II, the giant U.S. military-industrial complex recognized how profitable war could be (Dwight Eisenhower warned us about this). So all the politicians got bought up, pricey lobbyists were hired, and special interest groups were formed to encourage and promote more 'war'. Thus, the U.S. got involved in the Korean Conflict; the Cuban Missile Crisis; the Cold War; Vietnam and Desert Storm. A new 'war' was necessary to boost the sagging profits of corporations like McDonnell-Douglass; Lockheed-Martin; Sikorsky and those two 'newcomers' to the roster of government contractors: the Carlyle Group and Halliburton (both of which have direct ties to the Bush White House).
We are not there to 'liberate', nor are we there to bring democracy to Iraq. We are there solely for OIL and WAR PROFITEERING.
If we truly intend to be out of Iraq as soon as democracy is installed, WHY are we building the largest embassy in the world on a 104-acre site in downtown Baghdad overlooking the 'new' puppet Iraqi government installed by the Bush administration?
We will be in Iraq until we've sucked EVERY DROP of OIL from its sands. NEXT STOP: IRAN - for the very same reason. OIL. OIL. OIL. -RKO- 05/27/07
