Knowledge is about having information regarding certain matter and subjects that not everybody has, like information that is not innate in human beings.
But wisdom is being able to act in a certain situation, learning from your experiences and being experienced in general.
A beggar may not have any knowledge and be dubbed 'stupid,' but he may have a lot of wisdom and know how to approach the hardships of life, how to deal with painful emotions such as those he has sustained during his life, how to look positively at the crap that life throws at you and how just to be happy with the little things you have, something which many knowledgeable upper-class people might never know and be able to handle.

Knowledge is having information about anything and by studying a subject you can gain Knowledge about it. Wisdom is insight on a subject that can only be gained by personal life experiences, it can not be gained from a book. At least that is what Yoda told me :)

Roughly speaking, knowledge can be considered a grasp of raw facts, whereas wisdom is knowing how to apply those facts for practical good ends, and to understand the relative values of things and their appropriate places in the general scheme of things (to know how to apply knowledge for evil ends is not wisdom, but is termed "carnal prudence").

Anyone can gain knowledge - we store it in books and on the internet. It's what you do with it due to the combination of your experiences and humanity that turns it into wisdom.
