I don't know about songs but I saw a great childrens book called Show Way on Reading Rainbow. There might be some songs in it....It was a girl tracing her family history. The great (X 5) grama is a slave that is sold when she is 7. But her mother has taught her a song and a stich to sew (into a blanket). She grows up has a daughter who is sold when she is 7 but is taught the song and stitch. And so on 'til slavery ends. You find out though that the song and stitch lead the way on the underground railroad. Very cool story and book!
