As much as you would like to spend time reading. I believe that we can only account for 3-4% of the Universe. That is things that are made of matter. The rest is called "Dark Matter," which is still unknown but we do have theories.

My version is that space was created at the time of the big bang. Space is different than the void from the big bang came. With the introduction of matter events began, this also caused the beginning of time which is nothing more than the interval between events. Electromagnetic waves are emitted because of events and these waves are part of the fabric of space.
