First David Beckham, then a host of other stars pleading for the return of Maddie, now the Pope.....don't you think this is all getting a little sensationalist. Maddie I'm afraid to say is probably never going to be found. Her parents shouldn't have left them all alone in the first place. What will the Pope say to that?? Of course he will forgive them, but can they forgive themselves? It may be true that only Divine intervention will help but miracles don't happen often. Sorry. They should return to the UK and concentrate on their 2 remaining children who will bear the brunt of this in the long run. If over £2million won't flush out any concrete leads to the person/persons that took her, nothing will.

I fully agree with you. This is absolutely ridiculous. Who are the parents anyway, what gives them the right to meet anyone ?. If they where on income support and benefits would they be allowed to go meet the pope ? No, i dont think so. They would be crucified to the media. They should be talking to social services not the pope. they failed as parents and neglected all of there children. If you agree or not, those are the facts not opinions. If they are not held accountable for there disregard for there children's well being then social services are doing the children a great injustice. I hope to god she is still alive and no harm will come to her. Her parents should not be exempt from the law though. i would just like to say also the way they parade around in the papers for sympathy is disgusting. They should be ashamed of themselves. No fit parent would choose to leave 3 young children in a room on there own rather than use the available care that the hotel had.

I'm so looking forward to Gerrys blog post after meeting the Pope.

"Kate, the twins and I met for high tea with the Pope, he was lovely, really made us feel at home.
We chatted about whether he agreed that we are the most important Catholics in the world and it seems all our efforts have really paid off because the Pope said that God himself had told him that no one else matters.
We asked if he felt we had been wrong to leave the children and he agreed that 100 yards and a poor line of sight is perfectly acceptable but had it been 101 yards and we would not be good parents, so now we feel even more justified in our actions.
We asked him if he would like to donate money from the church towards our robbing the poor campaign to travel the world and he said that as he didnt want to be left out of the loop he would give us 50% of the years worldwide collection, so our tally is well into the billion mark now and world domination is just around the corner. Then he said he would have to cut the meeting short to spare a thought for everyone else in the world, which seemed a bit selfish to us but nevermind, then we got upto leave and it was ever so funny, just as we were going out the door we realised we hadnt told him about Madeleine at all,oh well, maybe next time...if we remember!"

I know what you mean i was wondering what has the Pope got to do with anything! i don't blame the parents and i don't think anyone else should. they were on holiday in what they thought was a safe place (but it obviously wasn't) the parents have well respected jobs and wouldn't of left them if they didn't think it was safe! I don't think any amount of money will bring her back but its good that there are lots of people who are touched by this story! They are in desperate need of a miracle and i think the only person they could turn to was god! I know they should concentrate on the twins but you cant just forget about Madeleine can you! Please don't blame the parents it wasn't their fault!

Money can buy you anything and hide a multitude of sins.
Now meeting the pope is beyond a joke, there are thousands of missing people - young and old.
Oh but they dont get the support of biased media, campaign fund raisers and have a totally planned story and team behind them.
The Maddie Story - is just that , a story that has holes all the way through it. The focus is not on Maddie, but on TEAM MCCANN, with them censoring forums on mirror.co.uk, sun.co.uk channel 4 and more.

Maddie seems to be lost in all this campaigning by team mccann ...they have lost the inspiration reason for this entire element . the mothers and fathers are self focused .. materialististic..ruthless..tremendously opinionated ... boastful and have their priorities all incorrect ... that's their fault she is lacking and particular they might desire to stay with it on a daily basis yet for gods sake team mccann get them to admit they have been at fault and perhaps purely in line with possibility human beings would be extra accommodating at helping you return back to the united kingdom and face the youngster risk-free practices centers fairly of hiding and hoping it is going to pass away.. stop hiding in the back of all and sundry and shouting whilst somebody criticises your strikes stop dropping helpful time attempting to win over the same old public .. stop dropping not elementary earned donated money on stupid infantile strategies and face the track the faster you do this the faster we can all discover Maddie .. stop dropping time as time is something Maddie would not probably have

They didn't have to publicise it...it smacks of milking a situation. I'm not saying it's wrong, I'm sure it would be a great comfort to any devout Catholic, but why the publicity?

I feel really sorry for countless nice, devout parents whose children have leukaemia, brain tumours, brain damage or other terrible thing who aren't getting this kind of attention and support. (I also feel sorry for parents whose children are ill who aren't religious, before anyone misunderstands me, but they probably wouldn't want to meet the Pope anyway!). And these donations of millions of pounds from the rich and famous....how many transplants, dialysis machines and cancer drugs would those donations pay for? Oh of course, silly me, that wouldn't get any publicity would it.

the parents are both catholic and therefore to accept or receive an audience with the Pope would seem all in order i see nothing wrong in that at all at least there is no money involved here
