IBM sold the manufacturing of computers to Lenovo which is based in China. Lenovo got a 3year contract after the purchase to use IBM as the logo of the computers they're manufacturing. As far as IBM T60 it's a great computer and you will expect that it will last long. The company that I work for distributes IBM laptops to its employees. Usually IBM laptops is recommended for business use not really for personal use.

I'm typing this on a T60p. I'ts a much better and more solid computer than my old Dell D600 andf the other 4-5 Dell laptops I've had the last 10 years. I cannot compare to the IBM quality, but the Lenovo is one of the better laptops I've ever seen.

Lenovo have done a great job at taking over where IBM left off. If anything, I think they are better now than they were a few years back.

It relies upon what you're searching for. i'm utilising a Dell Studio 1555 at present and it fairly works nice, Dell shopper service is CRAP, as interior of a week of utilising it, I were given a blue exhibit screen mistakes like randomly at random periods. Dell were attempting to make me pay 70 pound on properly because it turned right into a software project, and in the adventure that they couldn't restore it, they kept the money besides. contained in the properly i basically deleted a residing house windows replace and worked nice ever considering the fact that. It rattles plenty and makes a peculiar sound each and every-time i press this particular key. this is because the diverse colors they use jut clip on, mine keep popping out. Dell are sturdy in case you opt to personalize it, you may opt for what hardware and software you favor. IBM are sturdy, by no ability had one, yet my sister and uncle had the predecessor the "imagine Pad" and is sturdy, basically no longer up for todays software and needs because for sure that's previous. i'd reccomend Dell, yet dont purchase an Inspiron, as they have the most issues via failing batteries and such, i advise you dont recognize what number questions are revealed appropriate to the Inspiron. pass for the Studio or larger, as they don't have any issues in any respect. the purely issues are Microsoft :D

This is one thing the Chinese have done right, the notebooks are excellent products! Very well built and reliable. The lcd panels coming out of China are too. Just dont let your pet eat pet food from China. Just like in America, when a quality inspector or a whistle blower has to fear retailiation from his employer, there is no such thing as quality control. I have a friend that was an airliane mechanic and they used to have a "blackball" program, but it was tied to your NAME so they were afraid to report problems.
